During this time, we are all searching for new ways to stay connected, and this year’s summer program was no exception. This online exhibition features selected works created by  2020 CVA School of Art summer residents in two separate courses led by Lead Faculty MENTORS Raheleh Filsoofi and Kalup Linzy. Each of these projects drew from Filsoofi and Linzy’s individual practices, asking the participants to respond directly to their mentor’s work but through the lens of their own artistic interests. Raheleh Filsoofi fired and shipped a ceramic plate to each student as a departure point for their collaborative pieces. Kalup Linzy’s students took cues from the methods he uses to create character-driven video works. Through both ceramic and time-based media, these works collectively explore connection from afar, metamorphosis, and longing.
