Description
Entering my studio with joy and excitement, I discover what each day will hold. I am passionate about making art and it is my daily practice to work in my studio spaces. Using many techniques and diverse materials I share places, birds, woods, creeks, and dreams that move me. I make my block prints into 2D pieces or 3D sculptures that free stand or are wall mounted. I combine, ink, paint, block prints, pastels, drawing materials and found objects to combine and fold and make pieces that tell stories to share. I tear, paint, cut and print paper, layer colors and images, and adhere them to a background to set up and sculpt into forms. Through my love of nature, combined with a love of sculpture and paper I used my own art voice for these pieces. Some of my favorite artists include Joseph Cornell, Georgia O’Keefe and the Canadian Group of Seven Painters.About this Artist
