Talia Drury

Talia Drury is a furniture designer and artist whose work explores the intricate relationships between humans and the natural world. Currently based in Rochester, NY, Talia recently completed her Master of Fine Arts in Furniture Design at The School of American Crafts at Rochester Institute of Technology, where she is also currently a Resident Artist.

Talia’s artistic practice is rooted in a lifelong connection to nature, inspired by formative experiences exploring the wooded landscapes around her grandparents’ home in the Midwest. These early wanderings ignited her curiosity and continue to influence her work today as she collects seeds, observes organic forms, and draws inspiration from the paths she explores. Her work often incorporates themes of the natural world, with a focus on amplifying overlooked details of flora and fauna.

Through techniques like painting, wood bending, and wood carving, Talia creates pieces that balance function and concept, capturing the textures and patterns found in nature. Her recent body of work demonstrates a dedication to craft, material exploration, and storytelling, inviting viewers to reflect on their own connections to the environment.

Whether creating sculptural vessels or functional furniture, Talia’s work bridges the gap between art and nature, encouraging curiosity, observation, and reverence for the natural world.
