Gloria Ann Shows
Gloria Ann Shows is a print-focused artist and educator based in Washington, D.C. She earned her BFA at University of Central Oklahoma (Edmond, OK) and earned her MFA at The Ohio State University (Columbus, OH). Shows has been featured in galleries and museums across the United States, including Flood Plain (St. Louis, MO), Pizzuti Collection of the Columbus Museum of Art (Columbus, OH), Living Arts Gallery (Tulsa, OK), and ARTS/West (Athens, OH). She has held solo exhibitions at Pearl Conard Gallery (Mansfield, OH), The Project Box (Oklahoma City, OK), and Graceful Arts Gallery (Alva, OK).
Her prints are held in the collections of the Kohler Art Library at UW–Madison, the University of North Florida, Indiana University Bloomington, the Zuckerman Museum of Art, and the Southern Graphics Council International Archive. She is a recipient of grants from the Ohio Arts Council, The Ohio State University, and Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition, and has been awarded Best in Traditional Techniques by the Oklahoma Printmaking Network and Curator’s Choice Award for the Connect:Collect Exhibition at the Norrick Art Center (Oklahoma City, OK).
