Description
Where We Rest Where We Dream is made from torn bed sheets collected from the Chautauqua community. Dyed with my leftover tea bags, found dried leaves and pine needles. Dried in the wind and sun. Intertwined with found branches. Bed sheets where we rest when sleep when we dream. presenting ecological narratives where the natural world is our guide and teacher. listening to nature and to each other. conscious of the climate crises and thinking about our connection to the earth with every choice we make. working with natural elements and responding aesthetically, meditatively and bringing that feeling to inside spaces as inspiration. taking a moment to connect with the natural world, to each other, and to ourselves. using my hands in a transformative moment of making to access the inner world and create works that quiet, warm, and envelope. a stillness or pause during this moment in time. creating with earth-friendly materials and re-used textilesAbout this Artist
