Description
Present in many cultures, the poppet is an effigy made to represent a person for use in casting spells through sympathetic magic – using imitation and correspondence with the idea that one thing can influence something based on its relationship or resemblance. Crafted using the artist’s hair, the belly of this poppet is filled with lavender blossoms and lemon balm leaves, both herbs used to ease depression and anxiety. The artist’s image is fixed to the effigy with a rose quartz topped needle through the heart – a stone used to instill feelings of self-love.About this Artist
