Description

I paint with pigments I extract from flowers. While painting in this medium I am continually awestruck that something as familiar as a rose can be transformed into paint. I approach making art as a means of sharing this feeling of awe. The visual, verbal, and tactile patterns of daily life play a significant role in my abstract work. My series, Things We Say Often, explores how that sense of awe can arise when familiar sayings are transformed into abstracted visuals. My work has been recognized by the American Society of Botanical Artists, Champion Papers, Print Magazine, and AIGA.
