Description
This is one of the initial pieces where I started to incorporate Mexican American iconography such as the bordado shirt. I want to represent South Texas or the Rio Grande Valley as a culturally rich and vibrant environment. By living on the border I have experienced the beautiful mixture of two worlds, that when merged together they create a new border culture. As in for the thought process of this painting, I was thinking of a acquittance of mine who had mentioned that when he left the valley he decided to come back because nothing would replace the bi-cultural experience we have here.About this Artist
