Description
Robert Hopper, while a member of the CCVA/VACI board, became a friend of Chautauqua’s famous landscape genius Stanley Lewis. Over many years, the somewhat reticent Stanley, would let me sit on my bike and chat while he worked in his box on lakeside scenes. It took him almost three seasons to finish this piece. But it only took me 1/60th of a second to capture this historic moment. My one VACI regret is that I did not manage to win one of his paintings at a gala auction. For a very reasonable amount you can have this framed photo of Stanley Lewis at work.
