Description

Every year during Tomb-Sweeping Day 清明節, my ancestors descend to earth to gorge on hometown-favorite Chinese dishes prepared by my grandmother, including lobster, roast pork 紅燒肉, fish, pork feet soup, and fresh vegetables 青菜. In the painting, my grandmother is the grand orchestrator of this theater, opening the patio door for them to enter the living room where a feast and empty chairs await them.
