Description

My work focuses on my reaction to the intricate fragility and power of nature through a search for original form. The work evokes abstract figures found in nature, weather and the living beings in the wild fields all around my studio: birds, insects, flora and fauna. These are my subjects; I observe them closely and express what I feel and see.  As I paint, themes of memory, loss, humor, mystery and beauty emerge into shapes and colors.  The compositions are a dialog between visual movement, inner compositional balance and my use of color. It is important to me that I invent what I paint and invent with great inner freedom guiding me while I improvise with paint. The paintings were created very recently, in 2024-2025.
