Description
My work explores ideas of self discovery and expression, fears, and chaos. Creating pieces that challenge my self identify allow me to communicate within myself. The nostalgia, the discovery (within my practice and my mind), the trepidation of the undiscovered. In conjunction these thoughts drive me to express myself through creation. This piece speaks to nostalgia and emptiness. Filling my life with materialistic item; like a bottomless pit, like a spoiled child. By portraying these worries, I am communicating pieces of me. Pushing through a fraudulent feeling of who I really am.

Mariana Prado is a 21 year old artist originally from Reynosa, Tamaulipas. Now residing in deep South Texas. She specializes in studio practices and plastic arts. Mariana received her Bachelors in Fine Arts from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in 2021.
