Description

Urgently gripping to design that integrates interdependency, reciprocity and metaphysics, Body_Building is a forthcoming project that reimagings the static, immovable nature of architecture. Glass skins transform in appearance and function as they fold and expand between a flat glass plane and a 3-D object. What would our buildings look like if they could shape shift in response to our individual needs?

About this Artist

Kris Rumman

Kris Rumman

Kris Rumman is a Palestinian-American artist who creates multidisciplinary work that is migratory, situationally responsive and inextricably linked to the geopolitics of the places that she has  lived. Captivated by architecture, power, and chance, she construct spaces that reshuffles these elements.  Rumman grew up in Toledo, Ohio, the birthplace of the Studio Glass Movement, where she began her nearly two decade long relationship with glass. She graduated with a BFA from Bowling Green State University in 2008 and an MFA from Tyler School of Art and Architecture in 2018. She has taught at various institutions around the country, including Temple University’s Tyler School of Art and Architecture, Chautauqua Institution, Salem Community College, Toledo Museum of Art, and Pratt Fine Arts Center.
