Description

Susan Patton is a largely self-taught multi-media artist, educated in part in Chautauqua's Special Studies art classes with favorite instructors Lynn LeFauve and Jerome Chesley. She started painting when she retired and wanted to develop her ability to express her artistic side. Susan exhibits at Chautauqua's CVA Gallery and in galleries on Hilton Head Island, SC. Her special interest is painting people, especially children and adults at play at the beach. Her Chautauqua home is her personal gallery for her Chautauqua paintings. Recently, she has been creating a series of shadowboxes entitled, "Seniors Doin' Stuff" depicting fanciful images of senior citizens engaged in activities often thought of as being beyond the capabilities of seniors. Many of them are inspired by actual seniors participating in Senior Olympics competition or recognized for outstanding athletic ability. Susan paints and sculpts for her own amusement and especially enjoys sharing her work with you.
