Description
My artistic journey took an unexpected turn following a concussion 14 years ago, during which I experienced a profound visual phenomenon: multiple images layering upon one another. While confined to a hospital bed, I began sketching the faces of my doctors and nurses, capturing their essence in overlapping lines and forms. This experience inspired me to experiment with layers of materials, leading me to work with glass, plexiglass, and ultimately, a transparent synthetic fiber. Through the use of multiple layers of this delicate fabric, along with ink and brush, I create compositions that evoke moments suspended in time. My work hovers between the figurative and the abstract, presenting ghost-like images that seem to draw breath and vanish into the ether. Limbs and faces emerge with clarity, while others recede, inviting viewers to engage with the mystery that permeates each piece.About this Artist
