FokFok is a multi-part project examining the commercialized cultural products of the Thai restaurant franchise PokPok (pokpokrestaurants.com) through fake merchandise, an Instagram bot committing cultural theft, and a faux reality TV show to address consumption, copyright, the fantasy of the cultural “Other,” and the neocolonial gaze disguised as multiculturalism. Here I am recreating their world famous "Ike's Vietnamese Fish Sauce wings." Full Title: “Ike's Vietnamese Fish Sauce Limbs (Spicy or Regular Available) - Half twelve fresh whole natural chicken limbs marinated in Asian fish sauce and sugar, deeply fried, coated in caramelized fish sauce and garlic, and served with pickled vegetables.
