Teresa Audet & Michael Benedetti

Teresa Audet is an artist and educator based in Pittsburgh, PA. Audet combines woodworking and basketry in her studio and social practice. Her work looks at object-making as a meditative and transformative act, and focuses on joy, play, and resilience. Audet grew up in Minnesota, received a BFA in Furniture Design from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 2011 and an MFA from UW-Madison in 2023. Audet participates in artist residencies and exhibitions, and teaches art to both adults and children nationwide.

 

Michael Benedetti was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In 2008 he
received a BFA in Sculpture from Syracuse University and in 2016, a MFA in
Printmaking from The University of Georgia. Throughout his career Michael has been
awarded multiple artist residencies and solo exhibitions. Most notably residencies at
Anderson Ranch Arts Center, Vermont Studio Center, Lawrence Arts Center, and
exhibitions at Artlink Contemporary Gallery, Fort Wayne, IN; Blank Space Gallery,
Wilkinsburg, PA; and The Academy of Visual Arts, Ghent, Belgium.
In 2021, Michael established Slabs and Planes, where he is sole proprietor. Slabs and
Planes specializes in custom picture frame design and fabrication, woodworking,
woodblock prints, and fine art screenprint commissions for artists throughout the U.S.
He currently resides in Pittsburgh and shares a wood shop/arts studio space with his
partner Teresa Audet.
