Description

Meander is a collaboration between ceramic artist Shae Bishop and furniture maker Annie Evelyn. The wood tiles in the seat were designed by Bishop, forming a twining pattern of polygonal units inspired by historical tilework. The seat, composed of Cherry, Maple, Walnut, and ebonized White Oak tiles, features Evelyn’s innovative technique of “upholstering” with hard materials, such as wood, cement, and metal, to create soft, squishy surfaces that appear rigid.
