DescriptionThe inspiration for this piece came from arriving in one piece after child raising. The body reconfigured: some parts may have given out, other parts withered, another perhaps clad with scar tissue. It’s where you are. I hoped to portray a certain ownership and private strength. A presentation of the new self. Tentative with the permanence of the changes and a defensive stance against judgement from without, this is independence. This is moving forward, changed as we are. The name choice claims ground about what beauty also looks like.
